Register

 

1. How do I register?

 

You are only a few minutes away from your first international calls with Mega mobile! Please follow the instructions below to sign up.

 

  1. Register at our website by clicking the green button ‘Get it now’ and fill in the form. Check if you entered your phone number correctly. Then click on ‘register’.
  2. We send you a text message with a verification code. Enter the code on the screen and ‘Confirm’.
  3. *Download and activate the Mega mobile app on your phone. Follow the on-screen instructions.
  4. Registration is completed! To start calling you only have to buy calling credit. Follow the on-screen instructions to get credit.

 

You are ready to go! Enjoy your calls with Mega mobile!

After registration we also sent an e-mail with a mini-manual about how to use the Mega mobile app. Click on the link in the e-mail to open the PDF file.

 

* Note that the app during downloading asks for permission to your contacts and to your location. Please agree on access to your contacts and your location. If you don’t agree on access to..

Login

2. I forgot my username to login at the website. What to do now?

Your username is your E-mail address, the one you registered with. Please contact us if you cannot remember with what e-mail address you have registered. 

 

3. I forgot my password to login at the website. What to do now?

You can change your password on our website at the ‘login’ screen. Under ‘password’ it says ‘forgot my password’. Click on ‘forgot my password’ and follow the onscreen prompts to change your

password.

The Mega mobile app

4. Can I call with the Mega mobile app with my type of mobile phone?

Our app can be used by all Smartphones with an Android system and it can be used by iPhones. 

If you have a ‘normal’ mobile phone then you cannot call with our app. However, you can enjoy our cheap international calls. Please contact us for more information – click here

 

5. How to download and activate the Mega mobile app

  1. Open the Playstore (or Appstore for iPhone) of your Smartphone. Search for ‘Megamobile’ At the Playstore and search for ‘Mega mobile (with space) at the Appstore. Download* our app for free.

* Note that the app during downloading asks for permission to your contacts and to your location. Please agree on access to your contacts and to your location. If you don’t agree on access to..

- your contacts you won't be able to open the app! 

- your location settings, the call through line will be automatically set to the Netherlands instead of the country where you are.

 

  1. After installation of the app, your Username and Password are asked at the app login screen. Enter your app Username and your Password (combination of numbers and digits) in the app and ‘login’. You can find your app Username and Password in the mail that you received after buying the starter kit OR find the login details at our website (Member Login - My Mega mobile - starter kit).

6. I cannot login on to the Mega mobile app. What to do now?

Make sure you have entered your starter kit data, your Username and Password (number and letter combination), correctly. Pay attention to the difference between lowercase 'l' and number '1'.

Are you sure that you have entered the correct Username and Password, but the app still does not register? Then  please switch off the Wi-Fi connection on your phone. Download/ install the Mega mobile app via 3G/4G. When having a data bundle,  your phone switches automatically to 3G/4G when turning off Wi-Fi.

Try to login to the Mega mobile app,  enter your Username and Password again. The app is logged on and activated when the screen of the Mega mobile app mentions ‘registered’. Switch on the Wi-Fi connection on your phone again. You’re good to go! Enjoy your calls!

7. How do I call with the Mega mobile app?

Calling SIP or GSM?

Calling via SIP is calling via Wi-Fi or 3G/4G (internet). Calling via GSM is a GSM (mobile, 2G) connection. Open the Mega mobile app on your Smartphone to call with Mega mobile. Choose SIP for calling via internet (data) or choose GSM at the top on the left in the app. You can change calling system by pressing SIP or GSM at the top left. The SIP key is green and the GSM key is red. When one of the keys turns grey, it means that you don’t have a connection to make a call. Then choose the other calling system (SIP/GSM).

 

TopUp (calling credit)

Your TopUp credit is shown at the top right side of the app. With this application you can always see your amount of credit. When not having a data connection, it is possible that your credit is not visible. The app updates your balance when having a data connection. Login at our website and go to 'My Mega mobile' to see your detailed call history online.

 

Calling via Contacts 

Easily call from your contact list! At the bottom in the app you’ll find the key ‘contacts’. Press the key to call one of your contacts. Choose your contact and press on the number to call. NOTE: check if you have added the landcode (for example +44/ 0044) before the number to be able to make an international call.

 

Calling via Keypad/ Dailer

At the bottom in the app you’ll find the key ‘Keypad/ Dialer’. With this key you can directly dial a phone number. Press SIP or GSM at the bottom of the app to start a call. 

 

Call History

At the bottom in the app you’ll find the key ‘History’. This key gives an overview of your call history. Easily view all your calls and see how long you called. Go to ‘My Mega mobile’ at our website to see the costs per call online.

 

Favourites/ Quickdial (iPhone only)

At the bottom of the app you’ll find the key ‘Quickdial’. In this feature you can add your favourite contacts so you can call them even faster!

 

Change settings

At the bottom of the app, you’ll find the key ‘settings’. View your account details and change settings at this key. 

 

The pauze button (On Hold)

The pause button in the Mega mobile app can be used to put a call on hold. A call that is on hold for longer than 5 minutes will be closed. We have taken this measure in order to avoid high costs when forgetting to continue or cut off the on hold line.


8. What is calling via Wi-Fi?

Wi-Fi is a type of a wireless network. Calling over Wi-Fi (in the app SIP)  is calling over a wireless data connection. Calls via Wi-Fi with the Mega mobile app charge no additional costs form your provider, your are charged the cheap Mega mobile rate only.


9. What is calling via 3G/4G?

3G/4G calls is calling via the internet of your mobile operator. For 3G/4G connection you are dependant from the data capacity of your data bundle of your mobile provider. If the data bundle reached the limit, or when your are abroad, then your provider charges additional costs for data usage. Contact your provider for roaming costs.

 

10. What is calling via GSM?

We connect via your mobile provider to our gateway. This connection is made against the fixed national rate of your provider. Then the line gets forwarded via our gateway to the destination number. For the gateway line the cheap Mega mobile rate is calculated.

 

Note: with the Mega mobile GSM technique you still call about 50% cheaper than calling abroad with your provider. When calling via GSM from abroad your provider can charge high costs p.m. Therefore we advise so call via Wi-Fi when calling from abroad.


Please check if the callthrough line you are using is the one that is from the country you are at that time, this will be done automatically if you allow the app to het access to your location settings. You can check this by going to your app- settings. Open the app- settings and go to 'access number'. Select the country where you are located.

11. How can I see in in the app if I am connected to Wi-Fi or a 3G network?

At the top on the screen of your mobile phone a Wi-Fi or a 3G/4G symbol is displayed. When having a Wi-Fi connection, the Wi-Fi symbol is showed. When having a 3G/4G connection 3G/4G is displayed.


12. I don’t have Wi-Fi or 3G connection. Can I still call with the Mega mobile app?

Yes, of course! The Mega mobile app enables to call via GSM too. This calling method enables to call everywhere in the world.

 

13. What is calling via SIP and calling via GSM?

The Mega mobile app offers 2 calling methods: SIP and GSM. SIP is for internet (data) calling (Wi-Fi and 3G) and GSM is for mobile calls.

When you are at a Wi-Fi hotspot, then choose calling via SIP. The app will call via Wi-Fi automatically. When you are not connected to Wi-Fi, then the 3G or 4G symbol appears at the top on your screen and the app will call over 3G/4G automatically. Are you not connected to Wi-Fi or you don’t want to call via 3G/4G, then choose the GSM calling method. With our calling methods you can choose how you are going to call anywhere in the world. 14. Can I call to all countries in the world with the Mega mobile app?

Yes, you can call from every country and to every country in the world. Due to (possible) high roaming costs from you provider when being abroad, we advise to call via Wi-Fi when calling from abroad. We refer to the header ‘Costs’ on this page for information about costs.

Receiving calls

16. Can I receive incoming calls with the Mega mobile app?

You can always receive incoming calls. However, incoming calls are received and charged by your provider. Therefore you are also paying the rate for incoming calls from your provider.

Since 1 July 2013, the rate for incoming calls within Europe (EU- countries*) is €0.08 per minute. The European Union has set common regulation for all European providers for charging incoming calls within the EU countries. By this regulation everyone in the EU is paying the same for received calls per minute. Rates for incoming calls outside the EU differ per provider.

 

*EU- countries: Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, the Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovenia, Slovakia, Spain, Sweden, United Kingdom.

17. Mega mobile starterkit

You need to register at our website and need the Mega mobile app to be able to call with Mega mobile. The Mega mobile app and the registration are for free, you only need to buy credit to make cheap phonecalls with Mega mobile!

 

18. Does Mega mobile charge per minute or per second? 

You always pay for the first minute, after the first minute you will be charged per second.

 

19. Does Mega mobile charge a connection fee?

No, Mega mobile charges NO connection fee. No matter were in the world you are, calling to landline or mobile, we don’t charge a connection fee.

 

20. I am calling via Wi-Fi (SIP) with the app. Do I have any additional costs?

No, Mega mobile charges no additional costs. You only pay the Mega mobile rate as shown in our price list on our website.

 

21. I am calling via 3G or 4G (SIP) with the app. Do I have any additional costs?

No, Mega mobile charges no additional costs. You only pay the Mega mobile rate as shown in our price list on our website. NOTE: Your provider charges roaming costs for using 3G (data) when you are abroad.

 

22. I am calling via GSM (GSM) with the app. Do I have any additional costs?

For calling via GSM (call through) the app needs your Sim card. This inbuilt system (GSM) calls to a programmed dial-up number via your provider and then the call is forwarded to the destination abroad by a Mega mobile line.  

When calling inside your bundle, you only pay the Mega mobile rate for calling via GSM. However, when calling outside of the bundle, your provider charges the fixed rate per minute. These costs are shown on the invoice of your provider. Take a look at question 25 on this page for an overview of all costs.

 

Note: with the Mega mobile GSM technique you still call about 50% cheaper than calling abroad with your provider. When calling via GSM from abroad your provider can charge high costs p.m. Therefore we advise so call via Wi-Fi when calling from abroad.

23. Can the Mega mobile rate change?

Yes, that’s possible. We will communicate on our website what rate for which country will change. 

 

24. I have, for example, a UK phone number and I am abroad. I want to call to a UK number which is also abroad. Am I calling against the UK or the foreign Mega mobile rate?

You are calling to a UK number so you pay for the UK Mega mobile rate. Mega mobile namely calls to landcodes (0044 in this case). 0044 is the UK landcode, so Mega mobile charges the UK call rate, no matter what the location of the UK number is.

 

25. The costs per calling method (Wi-Fi, 3G/4G or GSM) in an overview.

At a glance:

Calling from the UK to foreign countries (worldwide):

-        via (SIP) Wi-Fi:    Mega mobile rate

-        via (SIP) 3G/ 4G: Mega mobile rate 

-        via (GSM) GSM:    Mega mobile rate + connection costs of your provider, when calling outside your bundle. These costs fall within the bundle of your provider as long as you are calling within the minutes of your bundle. Then you don't have additional costs.

 

NOTE: international calls with Mega mobile via GSM are about 50% cheaper than your own provider!


Calling from abroad within the EU*:

-        via (SIP) Wi-Fi:   Mega mobile rate 

-        via (SIP) 3G/4G: Mega mobile rate + data roaming costs of your provider

-        via (GSM) GSM:   Mega mobile rate + roaming costs of your provider.

Your provider charges the fixed rate per minute of the country where your are calling from. These additional costs are shown on the invoice of your provider. To prevent getting high bills of your provider, we advise to call via Wi-Fi when calling from abroad.

 

NOTE: international calls via GSM within the EU is still about 30% cheaper then calling international with your own provider!

26. What is TopUp?

TopUp simply is calling credit.

 

27. Where can I buy TopUp?

You can always TopUp your mobile online. Just login at our website and TopUp your account. Follow the instruction on the screen.

 

28. How to buy TopUp?

1. Go to our website and login with your e-mail address and your password.

2. Click on the green button: 'TopUp account'.

3. Choose your TopUp and checkout.

A payment confirmation will be send to your e-mail address. Your account will be credited directly and automatically after payment.

29. I would like to receive an official invoice (for VAT) after purchasing credit. How do I get an invoice?

After payment a payment confirmation e-mail will be send to your e-mail address. This is not an official invoice. Please send your company data to support@megamobile.eu with the request to receive a VAT- invoice (for example for business purposes). We will send you a digital VAT- invoice as soon as possible after your purchase.


Other questions

30. Can my TopUp credit and Mega mobile account expire?

Yes, after 6 months of inactivity your account can be frozen. Then you have 3 more months to activate your account. After 9 months of inactivity your account expires. For more information go to ‘terms and conditions’ at 4.12 – click here.

 

31. Do I get a new sim-card and a new phone number when registering at Mega mobile?

No, you don’t receive a sim card nor a new phone number. Thanks to our unique technique of the app, this is no longer necessary. With Mega mobile app you are always calling with your own phone number, and only one mobile phone.

 

32. I don't have a Smartphone. Can I still call with Mega mobile?

Yes, you are able to enjoy our cheap international call rates. You can register your fixed line and you can dial-up to our gateway number to enjoy our cheap international rates. Please contact us for the gateway number. - Click here

 

33. Can I send text messages with Mega mobile?

Not yet, but this feature will be available soon.

 

34. When are the Flying Blue Miles added to my account?

The Flying Blue Miles earned through a Mega mobile Topup will be added to your account every first week of the following month. F.e. if you buy Topup on the 10 of April, your Flying Blue credits will be updated somewhere between the first and the seventh of the following month, so May.

 

35. Would it be possible to receive an invoice (including VAT)?

Of course we can provide you with an invoice including VAT. Just send us an email (support@megamobile.eu) and we will send you this invoice (pdf) via email.
